Telem5G · 5G link for drones · 50–100 sorties flown on 5G

Fly beyond radio range.
See every drone, live.

Telem5G adds a secure 5G/4G link to any MAVLink drone, alongside its existing 2.4 GHz radio. Control, telemetry, live video and LiDAR 3D data stream to the cloud in real time — with no manual pull and no radio network to build.

How it works

One module beside the autopilot. The pilot keeps the radio.

Telem5G connects to the autopilot and camera and sends video, telemetry and LiDAR 3D over an encrypted 5G/4G link to DroneAI cloud. The 2.4 GHz RC stays with the pilot as backup.

How Telem5G works: drone or rover with any MAVLink autopilot sends video, telemetry and LiDAR 3D over an encrypted 5G link to DroneAI cloud, reaching a control room, a live LiDAR 3D stream and a second GCS; 2.4 GHz RC stays as backup
5G/4G carries video, telemetry and LiDAR; the 2.4 GHz RC link stays as the pilot's backup.
On the drone

Plug in, nothing removed

Telemetry to the flight controller, Ethernet to the camera and RC air unit, 5 V power and a SIM — that is the whole install. Works with any MAVLink autopilot (ArduPilot, PX4).

In the cloud

Real-time data, anywhere

The control room watches from any location; LiDAR point clouds arrive in real time, and a second GCS can take over if needed.

Over the RC link

The pilot keeps the radio

The existing 2.4 GHz RC link still serves the pilot and stays as an independent backup to 5G.

Built for real operations

What teams do with Telem5G

Delivery

Drone delivery

BVLOS routes beyond RC range; the drop watched live; one remote pilot, no chase team.

Video

Live video monitoring

EO and thermal video to any control room or screen, 200–500 ms glass-to-glass.

LiDAR

Real-time LiDAR 3D

LiDAR point clouds streamed to the cloud in real time — no manual pull. Live mapping and inspection as it flies.

Fleet

Fleet management

Every drone on one map: position, battery, link status, logs and remote Mission Planner.

DroneAI dashboard with Telem5G: fleet map with six UAVs, live EO and thermal video, real-time LiDAR 3D and fleet status all on 5G
One screen: fleet map, live EO and thermal video, real-time LiDAR 3D and the 5G status of every drone.

Two variants

Telem5G and Telem5G Duo

One modem for most routes; two modems on two networks when the link must never drop.

Telem5G with one 5G modem and 4 antennas; Telem5G Duo with two 5G modems on two networks and 8 antennas
One modem

Telem5G

  • 5G modems: one
  • Antennas: 4
  • If the network drops: falls back to 4G, then to the RC link
  • Data: control, telemetry, video and LiDAR 3D in real time

Best for: BVLOS control of any MAVLink drone.

Two modems · two networks

Telem5G Duo

  • 5G modems: two, on two different networks
  • Antennas: 8
  • If a network drops: the second modem carries the link
  • Data: control, telemetry, video and LiDAR 3D in real time

Best for: long routes and coverage gaps, where the link must not drop.

Redundant & reliable

No single point of failure

Each layer takes over when the one before it drops.

Layer 1

5G / 4G

Primary link for video, telemetry, LiDAR and commands; falls back from 5G to 4G automatically.

Layer 2

Second network (Duo)

Two independent 5G links: if one drops, the drone flies on the second.

Layer 3

2.4 GHz RC · LoRa optional

The pilot's existing radio stays as an independent backup; LoRa is available as an option.

Layer 4

Failsafe

Loss of every link: continue, loiter or return home — set per mission.

Who we work with

Built for the teams that fly beyond sight

Delivery operators

Go BVLOS without building a radio network

Routes planned on coverage maps, dual SIMs on long routes, live video to confirm each drop.

Drone OEMs

Ship every drone 5G-ready

One plug-in module on any MAVLink autopilot — or build it in with Cube 5G.

Inspection and survey

One remote pilot, many sites

Live 3D LiDAR data while the drone flies, so gaps are re-flown on the spot.

Telecom · private 5G

A ready drone use case for your network

Proven on C-DAC private 5G at the Amlohri coal mine — drones and trucks on one network.

Questions buyers ask

Before you decide

Which drones does Telem5G work with?

Any MAVLink drone or rover — ArduPilot or PX4. It sits beside the autopilot; nothing is removed.

How fast is control over 5G?

Command round trip is 100–300 ms and video glass-to-glass is 200–500 ms. After a drop the link is back in under 5 seconds.

What happens if 5G drops?

Telem5G falls back to 4G, then to the RC link. Telem5G Duo carries the link on its second modem and network. If every link is lost, the failsafe you set per mission takes over: continue, loiter or return home.

Do we need to build a radio network?

No. It uses existing public 4G/5G networks, or your private 5G.

Where does our data go, and is it secure?

Video, telemetry and LiDAR are encrypted and stored in DroneAI cloud in real time, or on your own server. Drones only make outbound connections.

Is the modem Chinese?

No — the 5G modem is non-Chinese and NDAA-compliant.

How do we buy or try it?
